"Sanau" sockweight - Corriedale / Mohair 100g - "Spearmint"
This is a lustrous and strong blend of 50% Corriedale wool grown in the Falkland Islands and 50% Mohair grown in UK. It's a 2-ply construction spun to fingering weight and I've dyed it with sock knitting in mind.
It is both lustrous and woolly and is beautifully soft for this kind of yarn.
100 g skein / 400 m approx. (~437 yds).
This yarn is currently being tested for use as a permanent non-nylon, non-superwash sock yarn base for BarberBlackSheep. So far it is looking very promising but they have not yet been tested for hard wear so please understand this is still in the testing stage at present! Mohair is often used to strengthen natural sock blends and initial feedback suggests this may be a very good substitute sock yarn for those who prefer to have all natural yarns to knit with and wear.
Needle size dependant on your gauge and pattern. It is recommended that you always knit a sample swatch to determine the correct needle size for your own knitting tension as this varies from person to person.
Barber Black Sheep recommends all their hand dyed yarns should be hand washed gently in a suitable detergent for delicate items for best results. As this is non-superwash fibre, please be aware that it can felt.
This is an in-stock item ready to be shipped. If you purchase dyed-to-order yarns at the same time, this yarn will be shipped at the same time as the custom dyed yarns.
